Running Sametime on a Domino configuration server is not supported, as this will cause meetings to fail. The Meeting Room Client will attempt a redirection to a Primary Domino Directory server. In Release 6.x, a Domino server's Domino Directory (names.nsf) can be configured as Primary or Configuration Directories. A Configuration Directory is a small, selective replica of a domain Domino Directory that contains only Domino configuration information. A server with a Configuration Directory is designed to connect to a remote server with a primary Domino Directory to look up information in the following documents that it does not store locally:
Person
Group
Mail-in Database
Resource
Any custom documents you add
To verify that your server is not listed as a Configuration server, open names.nsf and check the Directory - Directory Servers view under the Configuration section. Verify that the Sametime server is listed in the Primary Domino section and is not listed under the Configuration section.
To correct this issue, you must either replace the current names.nsf on the Sametime server with the names.nsf from a server in the same domain that is a Primary Domino Directory. If this isn't possible, you must unistall and reinstall Domino/Sametime and NOT select the option to install Domino as a configuration server.
